John Connors
Managing Partner
John Connors is a managing partner at Ignition Partners, a Bellevue Washington based venture capital investment firm. John joined Ignition Partners in 2005 after a distinguished career at Microsoft. John is also an operating partner at Ignition’s successor firm FUSE VC which John helped to launch in 2020.
Prior to Ignition Partners, John spent sixteen years at Microsoft serving in a wide range of executive roles. These executive roles spanned multiple functions including senior vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer (CFO), vice president of the Worldwide Enterprise Sales Group, vice president and chief information officer (CIO) and vice-president and corporate controller.
John led a number of successful Ignition investments including Splunk (SPLK IPO 2012) ; Tempered Networks, acquired by Johnson Controls; KenSci, acquired by Tegria; Motif Investing, acquired by Schwab; Chef, acquired by Progress Software; Azuqua, acquired by Okta; FiREapps, acquired by Kyriba; Xamarin, acquired by Microsoft; Scout Analytics, acquired by ServiceSource; Parse, acquired by Facebook; Tier 3, acquired by CenturyLink; Heroku, acquired by Salesforce; and XenSource, acquired by Citrix.
John is currently a member of the board of directors of Ignition backed companies Carbon Robotics, Icertis, Forward and Tractable.
John was also a 16-year board member of Nike (NKE).
John received his BA in accounting from the University of Montana.
